Every year, PubAid runs a competition to find the Charity Pub of the Year, sponsored by Matthew Clark and run in conjunction with the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group.
This year, the country’s pubs, and our lives more broadly, have been disrupted by the Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown. Pubs closed and fundraising became near-impossible – but that didn’t stop licensees and their teams across the country from doing all they could to support their communities.
We’ve therefore decided to change the name of our competition this year to the Community Pub Hero Awards, and looking for pubs who went the extra mile to help others during the pandemic. So, if you turned your pub into a grocery store, delivered hot meals to elderly residents, ran online quizzes or music, or offered a friendly chat to isolating customers, we want to hear from you.
Entering your pub is easy and free of charge. Just complete the short entry form below. We will ask your local MP to endorse your entry, so just add their name if you know it, otherwise we can do that.
After the closing date on 30 November, we will review all entries and select eight finalists. They will be invited, with their MP, to a reception in London early next year, where we will present them with a certificate before announcing the overall winner.
We look forward to receiving your entry for the Community Pub Hero Awards 2021!
